For secondary school students, the quickest and easiest way for them to get a TFN is via the secondary schools TFN program.
Applying this way is easy because the school verifies the student’s identity. It is not necessary to prove any evidence of identity documents. Some details from the student’s Australian birth certificate, Australian citizenship certificate, or overseas passport are required.

The Secondary Schools Tax File Number (TFN) Program will not continue beyond 31 December 2014.
This means that School TFN forms will no
longer be processed beyond this date.
